Master Benefit Templates

ClayHR provides an option to add master benefits, allowing users to save time by leveraging pre-existing benefit templates to create copies as needed.

How to create a Master Benefit Template

  1. Go to the Gear Icon and select “Compensation and Benefits”.
  1. Select “Benefit Administration” from the “Benefits” tab.
  1. Click on “Master Benefit” on the Benefits Home page.
  1. Click on "New Master Benefit" button on the Master Benefits Home page.
  1. A new page to add “Master Benefit Details” will open. Fill in the required details.
  1. Click on the “Save Master Benefit” button to save the template.
  1. Once saved, you will be redirected to the Master Benefit View page, where you can view the Master Benefit details under the “Information” tab and the list of Benefits created using that Master Benefit under the “Benefits” tab.
  1. You can edit the Master Benefit anytime by clicking the “Edit Master Benefit” button.

Creating a Benefit from a Master Benefit

  1. Go to the “Benefits” Home page and click the arrow next to the “New Benefit” button. An option to add “New Benefit from Master Benefit” will appear.
  1. Click on “New Benefit from Master Benefit.” A pop-up with a dropdown will appear, asking you to select the Master Benefit you want to use.
  1. Select the Master Benefit from the dropdown list and click on the “Proceed” button.
  1. You will be redirected to the Benefit Details page. Master Benefit details will automatically be filled here. Add the “Start Date” and “End Date” for the Benefit, and edit other fields as needed.
  1. Click on the “Save Benefit” button to create the Benefit.
  1. After saving, you will be redirected to the details page of the newly created benefit.

Viewing the Benefits created using a Master Benefit

  1. Go to the “Master Benefit” view page and click on the “Benefits” tab.
  1. Under the “Benefits” tab, you can view the Benefits created using that particular Master Benefit.
