Create birthday email templates and automate birthday email notifications with ClayHR.

To set up this automation, you will need to do 2 things:

• Activate birthday email notification.
• Set up an email template.

 a. Activate the Birthday Email notification

1. Go to the top right “Setup” Menu.
2. Click on “User And Employee Portal”.
3. Select submenu “Notifications”.  

• Activate the “Send Email Notification on Birthday” toggle.
• Activating the toggle will send birthday wishes to the corresponding team member at 10 AM as per their time zone.
• You can define your own birthday template using the steps below. If a birthday template is not defined, a default birthday notification is sent.                    

b. Set up an Email Template

• Go to the top right “Setup” Menu.
• Click on “Forms, Workflows & Templates”.
• Select the submenu “Templates”.  
• Click on the “Message Templates” link.
• Click on “New Template".
• Design birthday template by - a)Selecting Media type “Email”, and b)Setting System usage to “Birthday Notifications”. Selecting system usage will highlight the support variables that can be used in the email template.
